Taniya Bhatia, born on 28 November 1997, is an Indian cricketer. She plays as a wicket-keeper for Punjab and the Indian national team. Taniya is currently training under coach RP Singh. In 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) named her one of the five breakout stars in women’s cricket.

Career
After her time at DAV Academy, Taniya Bhatia became the youngest girl to represent Punjab in U19 cricket at just 11 years old. By the age of 16, she joined the senior state team.
At 13, she became the youngest player to play for the senior Punjab team in an inter-state domestic tournament in 2011. In 2015, she captained the U-19 North Zone team in a tournament in Guwahati, scoring 227 runs and making 10 dismissals. When she turned 16, she joined the India A squad. After facing a two-year slump in her career, her mother motivated her to continue pursuing her dreams.
Taniya made her Women’s Twenty20 International debut for India against South Africa on 13 February 2018 and is the first woman cricketer from Chandigarh to join the national team. She wears jersey number 28. Her One Day International debut was against Sri Lanka on 11 September 2018.
In October 2018, she was named in India’s squad for the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 tournament in the West Indies. She was also included in the squad for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia. In May 2021, she was named in India’s Test squad for a match against England and made her Test debut on 16 June 2021. In January 2022, she was part of the team for the Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand and later in July 2022, she was named in the team for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.
