The India U-19 cricket team is set to host Australia U-19 for a multi-format series starting on September 21, 2024, as announced by the BCCI on Friday, August 31. The series will begin with three one-day matches in Puducherry, followed by two four-day matches in Chennai. All matches are scheduled to start at 9:30 AM IST.
This series will be notable for the debut of Samit Dravid, son of the legendary cricketer Rahul Dravid, who recently concluded his tenure as the head coach of the senior Indian men’s team. The 18-year-old is expected to be a key player for India U-19.
Mohamed Amaan from the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) will captain the 15-member one-day squad, while Soham Patwardhan from the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) will lead the team in the four-day matches.
Samit Dravid, along with Samarth N (KSCA), Nikhil Kumar (UTCA), Chetan Sharma, Mohd Enaan, Kartikeya KP, and wicket-keepers Abhigyan Kundu and Harvansh Singh Pangalia, have been selected for both formats.
