Rafael Nadal will say an emotional goodbye to tennis at the Davis Cup finals next month. Before that, he will play against top players one last time at the 6 Kings Slam exhibition tournament in Riyadh, starting on October 16. This new event will feature six of the biggest stars in men’s tennis, including Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, and Holger Rune. The prize money is an impressive USD 6 million, double what players earn in Grand Slam tournaments.
While the tournament does not count for ATP rankings, its exciting player lineup makes it a significant event in tennis. Nadal, who announced his retirement from professional tennis last week, will be the main focus of attention. He and Djokovic have a direct entry into the semi-finals and may face each other on October 19.
In his last singles match, Nadal lost to Djokovic at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where Djokovic won a gold medal. Djokovic, who missed out on winning all four Grand Slam titles in 2024, is looking to end the season on a high note and bring joy to his fans in Riyadh.
