India is set to tour South Africa in November this year to play a series of four T20 Internationals. The matches will be held between November 8 and 15 at Durban, Gqeberha, Centurion, and Johannesburg.
These T20Is were originally scheduled for India’s 2021 tour of South Africa, but were postponed due to a surge in COVID-19 cases. During that tour, India played only three Tests and three ODIs, with South Africa winning both series. The T20Is were later planned to be rescheduled but had not yet found a suitable window. During a subsequent tour in December 2023, India played an all-format series that included three T20Is, three ODIs, and two Tests. The T20I and Test series ended in a 1-1 draw, while India won the ODI series 2-1.
Here is the schedule for India’s T20I tour of South Africa in 2024:
- 1st T20I: November 8 – Kingsmead, Durban
- 2nd T20I: November 10 – St George’s Park, Gqeberha
- 3rd T20I: November 13 – SuperSport Park, Centurion
- 4th T20I: November 15 – Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg
Hosting India is financially significant for many boards, including Cricket South Africa (CSA). Broadcast revenues from each T20 match exceed R150 million (US $8.4 million), which is crucial for CSA, given their recent financial loss of R119 million.

Lawson Naidoo, CSA chairperson, expressed gratitude to the BCCI, stating, “I would like to thank the BCCI for their continued support to South African cricket and world cricket in general. Any tour by the Indian cricket team to our shores brings great camaraderie and exciting cricket, and I know our fans will be eagerly awaiting this series, which will showcase the exceptional talent from both teams.”
