He started his career in 2015, debuting in both Twenty20 and List A formats. Initially studying for a Bachelor’s in Commerce, he switched to pursue cricket full-time after passing his CA exams and enrolling in an MBA in finance. Iyer made his first-class debut in 2018 and became Madhya Pradesh’s top scorer in the 2021-22 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he scored two centuries, including one of 151 runs, and also took 9 wickets in six matches.
